Legacy
From Al-Ubayyid to the wider world.
In 1947, the IMTAR story began in Al-Ubayyid, Kordofan, through the work of Ismail Mohammed Tahir. His life moved between commerce, civic leadership, education, industry, and regional relationships. He helped organize markets, supported trade systems, participated in industrial ventures, and treated knowledge as a public trust. IMTAR Organization carries this legacy forward, not as nostalgia, but as responsibility.

Saudi Archive Record
A Saudi relationship preserved in the family archive

Family archive
Among the most important records preserved in the IMTAR family archive is an image of Ismail Mohammed Tahir with King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reflecting part of the historic connection between the IMTAR family and the Saudi Royal Family.
This image is not decoration. It is a visual witness to a relationship that extended from Kordofan, Sudan, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, built on respect, trust, and regional connection.
For IMTAR Organization, the image represents a bridge between the founder’s story in Sudan and the continuation of the IMTAR legacy from Riyadh today.
Archive
The images are not decoration. They are evidence.
